The bench arrived today, and upon the minimal assembly required, I decided to make some upgrades before I had even used it. These were not absolutely necessary, but doing so enhanced the sturdiness and overall usability.First, i added some duct tape around the inserted part of the legs to minimize movement. Second, I added two inside washers to the leg/ankle holder since it moves up and down. Third, I drilled two additional holes in the main bench bracket to provide two additional incline placements for the back/main support. Finally, I drilled a hole in the steel "pin" that holds the bench together and allows for the bench to be folded for storage. Doing this allowed me to use a "cotter" pin to a. make sure the pin didn't fall out while using the bench, and b. insure that it will not fall out and get lost when storing the bench. All in all, an excellent bench. Arrived less than a week after ordering (w/o any damage), and was super easy to assemble. The company even provided two wrenches (w/three different metric openings) to assemble the bench. Nice welds, minimal movement (after the aforementioned mods), lightweight and storable. Though I thought that the leg support rollers locked into place, and that there was a higher incline for the butt portion of the bench, it is still extremely versatile and held up nicely for my first workout. Not sure I would want to use it to rep out 235 lb bench presses, but am not at all concerned with doing 100 lb dumbell presses. For the price and convenience, this would be really hard to top. Very happy!Update: so, I had to go back and drill another hole so that the back support would actually lay flat. (it still is not completely flat because the butt/seat support section is slightly off.) Also, when I had the bench in the decline position (for the back support) the ends of the metal support rails dug into my back so much so that it was too painful to continue. I ended up wrapping and taping the ends, but still need to lay a towel across the gap when doing decline position(s). Rethinking my original review and knocking off a star. Just really poor quality control concerning the "missing" holes and the oversight concerning the ends of the metal rods digging into your back while using.Great bench that took less than five minutes to have set it set up and ready to go.Padding is comfortable and adjustments are easy. For $100 this is a good bench. Some people complained that the gap between the seat and the back is too wide and uncomfortable. That is true, but it is livable. Some complained that the bench will not go flat. That is true too. One person drilled a new hole and was able to get the bench to become flat. I took his suggestion and drilled a new hole too. Now the bench will become flat. The bench is very stable and otherwise a very good all around bench. If you want reasonably priced and are willing to make some adjustments this might be the one for you. If you want a little more out of your bench spend a little more money. I am very happy with mine.In short -- the adjustment knob on this thing wears very very fast.I had assumed the other negative reviews of this bench were from people abusing the equipment or not using it properly. I'm 165ibs and I never had loaded more than 80ibs of weights onto this thing, and I only use it maybe twice a week and I'm very cautious, I never jump or bounce on it... And I just had the torso-bed flatten out on me while sitting upright, talking on the phone. While the bench was assembled and completely flat, the safety lock twisted shut on the adjustment knob, I had just popped down for a second and the torso-bed tilted inward until it was completely folded down. Thank god this happened when I wasn't working out, because I would have been seriously injured. The adjustment knob screw was completely jammed and wouldn't turn either way, but the seat could still articulate up and down at least 15-20 degrees. Took a wrench and gloves to unscrew it off. I assumed metal fatigue at the screw holes, but it was actually the safety catch on the adjustment knob that jammed itself in the open (unlocked) position intended for switching between the bench holes. It could be shaken loose (locked) with a tap from a hammer, but it would then jam again anyway when pushed in. It was completely unsafe to use at this point.I contacted RitFit and asked them to replace the knob, which they did though it took a couple weeks. The adjustment knob looks different, but is in working order. I tested it thoroughly with the bench to make sure it would be okay and I've since been using it as normal. If you do choose to buy this bench, beware the knob will certainly fail at some point.Received our RitFit Adjustable / Foldable Utility Weight Bench on-time and as advertised. Very easy to put together and has help up perfectly for the last few months without any issues! Great bench to have and use without worrying about it breaking or falling apart. We use it daily and the bench and padding is still in new condition! This is a great bench for the money. It doesn't get 5 stars because although it's good it's not perfect. The faults:It arrived with quite a few dinks and scratchesIt's not straight, it's not out by much, when I look from above its kinkedThe welding is messy, the spatter hasn't been cleaned off properly before painting. The backrest covering is creased in one corner as it's not fitted correctly. For me personally I would have liked the 90 degree position if it were about 85 degreesNone of the above affect the function of the bench although I did slide off the bench in the decline positionThe good bits:It's sturdy and stable, it has the best maximum load I could find for the money. I've had 350 lb on it so far and it hasn't budged. It has a good range from decline to 90 degreesIt feels safe, the locking bolts to adjust the seat and a backrest feel secure and strongIt's very, very easy to assembleIt's easy to fold up and store. The padding is good. What's not to like, would recommend itI use this for my home workouts with weights. The bench comes in three pieces and took 5 minutes to assemble. Very easy. It's heavy to move but that's expected. Not much to dislike - the bench folds away in 20 seconds and is quite compact and slides under my table. It's also - when flat - a bit lower to the ground than some of the benches I've used in gyms, which - for me - is a positive.I also use it on my wooden floor when inside, and it has plastic feet which have not marked anything yet.I benched 40kg without the bench wobbling, so all good so far.I haven't used the round pads around the end of the bench though (presumably for hooking your feet under and doing sit ups).Good value for money.Feels seat and back rest are made from thin plywood, can hear it cracking and creaking if you put any pressure on the sides of it. The number of heights is also lacking, there's nothing between almost 90 degrees up and 180 degrees (flat). What a great weight training bench for the price. Bought it as the one I replaced didn’t have the adjustable seat.Very comfy to use, very steady weight bench. Another feature I like, is when laid flat on the bench pressing. Both the seat and back rest are chamfered allowing the base of your back to rest in it. The locking mechanism on both the seat and back rest is very secure and easy to use. All in all for the money you can’t go wrong.I have had this bench for over 4 months. It was very easy to assemble (about 20 minutes). It is very stable and feels plenty strong enough for the workouts I do (2 x 10kg dumbbells). When setting the angle of the back rest (the long side) it is important to tighten the lock screw fully each time you make an adjustment. People who complain about the hole wearing, where the lock screw locates in, probably don't tighten this up. The overall quality is plenty good enough for what I do. I use the bench about 3 or 4 time a week. It is very simple to fold and store, you just remove a pin from underneath, pull the centre up and the bench folds in half, you then refit the pin back in hole so you don't loose it. For general home use this bench is ideal.
